We’ve all been there… The start of your career, and your first day on the job… For some, memories of nervousness come to mind. Others might recall feeling overcome with excitement. You might have been fortunate to start your career at a company that provides a great working environment, taught you the fundamentals of business, and helped to shape you into the working professional you aspired to become. This is exactly what our group of 2022 interns had to look forward to, when they joined KCS at the start of the financial year.

KCS is a leading provider of ERP software for Distributors, Retailers, and Wholesalers internationally, and we pride ourselves in the development of our staff. As such, we launched an internship programme in October 2020, with the aim of recruiting and developing young professionals at the start of their career. The first round of our programme was a resounding success, which made KCS even more excited to continue with the initiative.

After months of hard work and learning, the KCS South Africa team is proud to share that our second group of interns have officially graduated in September. They are now permanently employed and placed in our Global Support Department.

In addition to shaping and developing young professionals, the internship programme promotes diversity and inclusivity in the workplace. Candidates from different backgrounds and cultures have the opportunity to work as a team towards achieving KCS’s strategic objectives.

We cherish fond memories of our first group of intern graduates, who fill their current roles with confidence and serve as mentors for the second group. Both are a prime example of hard work that pays off, and the development that KCS supports our staff with. The programme also provides candidates with the opportunity to bring new ideas to the business, that can drive KCS forward as a company. From streamlined processes to new innovations, we are excited to see what else these young minds will contribute.

KCS SA Managing Director, Mr Giuseppe Martini, proudly mentioned that he looks forward to continuing with the programme for a third consecutive year. “The success of the programme is as much due to the mentors, that get assigned to the interns, as well as the fantastic attitude shown by the learners. We are so proud to be able to be part of growing our youth”, he concluded.

The software industry is ever-evolving, which makes it that much more crucial to stay at the forefront. Investment in new ideas will help us to achieve that.

Everyone needs to start somewhere and given with the current economic climate, it can be difficult to appoint someone with little or no experience. KCS is proud to invest in the development of young professionals and provide them with the platform to grow in their career.
