KCS Konnect 2022 - A Recap of Our Annual Customer Conference

Venue scouting, presentations being prepared, printing delivered, shoes dusted off… On November 3rd, after months of planning and preparation, the KCS South Africa team hosted our annual Konnect customer conference in Johannesburg. As the countdown to the big day began, our team’s excitement built.
The day started with an opening address by our Managing Director, Giuseppe Martini. He provided an overview of 2022 highlights, key achievements, global and local management teams, and updates to our global operations.

 

This was followed by updates from each of our departments, which included:

  • Hosting: In this session we covered the benefits and reduced security risks of running your ERP system on KCS Cloud. The "3-2-1-1-0 rule" of data backup was also presented.
  • RPA: Our guest presenter, Apollo Studios, explained how Robotic Process Automation (RPA) can save businesses time and money on repetitive, mundane tasks— with a few real-world examples.
  • R&D: This session consisted of 3 parts— eApps and Mobile Solutions, the enhanced eCommerce platform, and the additional functionality on K8.
    > eApps and Mobile Solutions: We covered our 6-month roadmap on eReceipt, ePick, eWarehouse, eStockcheck, and ePOD along with a few exciting new mobile uses.
    > eCommerce: The future of our WebPro application was presented while the audience listened with keen interest. 
    > K8: Our team showed some of the latest enhancements to V21, including:
    • the new UI (User Interface) for tills,
    • enhanced floor pricing and quantity breaks functionality,
    • additional promotional and campaign pricing functionality,
    • additional stock purchasing and control management functionality,
    • the new SPA (Special Price Agreements), and a rafter of new Permission Securities.
  • Our Support department discussed the tools and KPIs that they use to manage customer support and service level satisfaction, concluded by an overview of the benefits of upgrading to V21.
  • inspHire: An ideal solution for customers in the rental space (including plant hire, tool and equipment hire, and more). The presentation was focused around inspHire’s latest features and integrations, with a walkthrough of the system dashboard.
  • Our BI solution partner, Phocas, presented an overview of analytical tools that easily integrate with K8, and allows for real-time analysis and visibility of business results.

Based on discussions with everyone who attended, the overall feedback about the conference was extremely positive. It was great to be able to interact with our customers, and we look forward to hosting our 2023 conference, with even more exciting announcements to share.
